Foix&#8217;s poem, &#8220;La Marta en un bar, devant el mar&#8221; &#8211; Sitges, August Full Moon 1921 &#8211; created in 2013. Unlike the first version created in 1996, which is currently lost, this medium-sized work (73 x 60 cm) is executed with a more refined and fresh technique, and the pink hues of the Sitges twilight invade the work and envelop the characters in a marine atmosphere, suggestive of murmurs. Foix's poem,  \" width=\"100%\" srcset=\"https:\/\/josepmariarossello.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/DSC_0486-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/josepmariarossello.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/DSC_0486-1-566x453.jpg 566w, https:\/\/josepmariarossello.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/DSC_0486-1-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #000000;\">The Artist Josep Maria Rossell\u00f3 Donates Nearly 40 Works to the City Council<\/h3>\n<div id=\"entradeta\" style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<div class=\"imatge\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\" \" src=\"http:\/\/www.sitges.cat\/img\/img_74459322_1.gif\" alt=\" \"><\/div>\n<p class=\"amb-imatge\">Considered one of the most prominent artists in the contemporary Tarragona art scene, Rossell\u00f3 donates works related to and created during his stay in Sitges, from 1969 to 1983.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The Tarragona-born artist, Josep Maria Rossell\u00f3, has donated approximately forty works to the City Council, created in Sitges during his time living there, from 1969 to 1983. This collection includes drawings, preliminary studies, and sketches of works related to the town. <\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The Councillor for Culture, Mireia Rossell, visited the artist, who currently resides in Tarragona, to formalize the donation, which adds to the City Council&#8217;s significant art collection. According to Rossell, &#8220;we are very pleased with this donation and grateful for Rossell\u00f3&#8217;s consideration in choosing Sitges as the place to deposit his legacy.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">In total, there are 38 pieces that depict everyday aspects of Sitges, such as panoramic views of Sitges, old flamenco tablaos, or the puffed bread from a well-known pizzeria. Rossell\u00f3 has also dedicated some of his works to Dal\u00ed and Lorca&#8217;s Saint Sebastian, or to Els pintors emmirallats (The Mirrored Painters), dedicated to Santiago Rusi\u00f1ol and Ramon Casas. Among the donated works are also other pieces such as Lady &amp; Blues, a cardboard and acrylic on wood collage that is a preliminary study for the painting the artist created live at the Jardins del Casino Prado Suburense with the jazz band La locomotora negra.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Rossell\u00f3 integrated into Sitges life during his residency in the town, where he established his studio on Carrers d&#8217;en Bosch, Bonaire, and Barcelona. The artist was the creator of the 2002 Festa Major program, the 2013 Art Fair poster, and the poster for the Centenary of the Modernist Festivals of Sitges, in addition to carrying out live painting and mural actions. <\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">In the last decade, part of his pictorial work has been exhibited at the Santiago Rusi\u00f1ol Library and the Miramar Building.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">The donated works are now included in the inventory of the Sitges Heritage Consortium for their conservation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sitges.cat\/jsp\/noticies\/detall.jsp?id=14360933\">http:\/\/www.sitges.cat\/jsp\/noticies\/detall.jsp?id=14360933<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sitges.cat\/jsp\/noticies\/detall.jsp?id=14360933\"> <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Second version of J.V.
