The Catalogue Raisonné of the artist Josep Maria Rosselló Virgili is comprised of:

  • Thirty-five (35) folders containing a significant portion of his work.
  • Twenty-six (26) folders, with works in public and private collections.
  • Nine (9) folders with – unlocated works –

Number of works included in public and private collections:

  • Three thousand eight hundred fifty-three (3,853), including the sixty-three (63) works
    published in books or exhibition catalogues.
  • 2,441 paintings
  • 63 sculptures
  • 1,349 works on paper

Number of works contained in the nine (9) folders of unlocated works:

  • Eight hundred fifty-six (856) paintings, sculptures, and works on paper / includes images of
  • 26 works published in the book “Rosselló in “Identidades””, attached.
  • Twenty-eight unlocated collections for which images and owner names are preserved, contained in two folders included in – Collections / Unlocated Works.

Missing works, under various circumstances:

  • 3 works
  • Performances / ephemeral works: 7 works

 

  • Photocopy of the court order for the lawsuit against Mr. Joan Manuel Marcé Gea, responsible for most of the – unlocated works – / Dismissed due to lack of evidence.
  • List of the “Biographical Notebooks” from the Tarragona Municipal Library-Hemeroteca, which include original photographs of some works.
  • List of the names of one hundred sixty-three (163) collections, for which no data or images are preserved.

Note: The photographs of each work included in this catalogue bear the author’s name on the right. The designation “Photo archive” corresponds to the image sent by the collector. The designation “Rosselló Archive” corresponds to photographs taken by the artist.
