At Random

The Centre d’Art Contemporani de Tarragona, “El Teler de Llum”, proposes to carry out a “divertimento” on the Ready-Made, the found object, titled “A L’ATZAR”, by Josep Maria Rosselló, to commemorate the Dada Centenary. For this project, the artist himself has created the object/objects, with the intention of scattering them throughout the city. On paper cut-outs, selected from previous studies of old live paintings, he has created a collection of fourteen works of diverse themes, closer to painting than to drawing, which, hidden inside wooden boxes, 45 x 33 cm, have been transformed into objects of desire. In times of scarcity, an object of desire, if it has no price, as is the case, is coveted for its uniqueness.
We will scatter this collection of works “at random” throughout the city’s gardens on June 6, 7, 8, and 9, starting at 11 AM. For one hour, they will await to entice passersby to take them home, thus becoming their owner. If, during this time, no one has taken them, a price will be assigned to them, and they will become part of the art market’s morass. If it rains, we will wait for it to stop. The locations chosen for this project are: Passeig de Sant Antoni, Jardí Saumells / Passeig de les Palmeres, Camp de Mart, and Jardins de Saavedra.
